Rumah Perempuan Migran (RPM) represents our unwavering commitment to sustainable empowerment. Originally established in 2007 as Lembaga Pelatihan Kewirausahaan Desa (LPKWD) Puncang Hijau, it transitioned in 2012 to become Pusat Kegiatan Belajar Masyarakat (PKBM) Puncang Hijau, focusing on supporting marginalized women. This initiative was inspired by a deep dedication to empowering former Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI), equipping them with essential skills to grow and thrive. What began as a modest effort has grown into a purposeful journey driven by a steadfast belief in creating meaningful change.
Over the years, Rumah Perempuan Migran (RPM) has steadily expanded its reach, establishing a robust network at local, national, and international levels. The organization's transformation in 2022 into RPM marked a significant milestone, reinforcing our commitment to empowering Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI), former PMI, and their families. Through various impactful programs, RPM actively contributes to advancing the global goals, particularly SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).
As one of Indonesia's provinces with the highest number of migrant workers, West Nusa Tenggara is home to the inspiring stories of thousands of its residents working abroad, especially in Malaysia and Saudi Arabia. RPM is dedicated to making a meaningful difference, ensuring that migrant workers not only contribute to the national economy but also have the opportunity to improve their families' long-term well-being.
We firmly believe that collaboration is key to achieving success. As such, RPM continuously nurtures partnerships with a wide array of stakeholders, including local governments, international organizations such as IOM, and academic institutions. These collaborations are integral to our efforts in delivering holistic and sustainable empowerment programs.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all those who have supported and contributed to this endeavor. Your unwavering trust and support fuel our drive to move forward, as we collectively work toward the broader goal of empowering migrant workers and their families.
Sincerely,
Mega Nisfa Makhroja
